The problem with being a rainbow nation
The first thing that springs to mind when seeing a rainbow is that this is indicative of a fulfilment of a promise. An oath was spoken by God wherein he stated that a rainbow in the heavens would be a physical representation of his promise that he would never again cause floodwaters to overtake and destroy all humanity. So when we call ourselves a rainbow nation we are in fact stating that we are deferring all power to government and a select few stakeholders who are deemed to be responsible for the orchestration of all that comprises this nation. Are we then not expecting our deliverance to come from the hands of a few men and women to whom we have then attributed god-like status? What then of the equality of man and the subsequent equal responsibility of load sharing? Surely each person has the capacity to think and thus to create for him/herself? Or have we instead abdicated our roles in this country for an inferior belief of "I can’t make a difference so why bother? "
South Africans, of all colours and creeds and doctrines, I urge you to look within your heart and to recall the dream of hope and the promise you believed in when you voted for a democratic country. It is my opinion that the occurrence of our alleged energy crisis as well as our supposed crime condition is as a direct result of our personal relinquishing of our potential to create as a nation. We have bought into the negative ethos and attached so much value and emotion to it that we have in fact become part and parcel of it and not of the solution. This harnessing of our power to the negative has resulted in a near economic depression and it will only be averted when we as the people of this nation accept our personal roles in its creation and manifestation.
Ignorance isn’t bliss here for by default we are allowing the environment to usurp our rights for silence denotes acceptance. Any rational man or woman would agree that in order for a nation to prosper it needs the support or energy of its people so then what have we made manifest here? It is time for true self-evaluation and a honest acknowledgement that these situations have occurred due to the mass belief and acceptance of them as truth.
Thoughts create things and when the greater populace adopts a system, product or belief it soon becomes entrenched as a mainstay of that society.
